Nikki Lunden is a new LA based rock singer/songwriter, but is no newcomer to strapping on her acoustic and taking the stage. As a 15 year veteran of live performance (solo and ensemble), the Iowa native decided to uproot from her home in fall of 2012 leaving nothing but a dust trail to take her career on full throttle. With a mix of influences such as Sheryl Crow, Ani DiFranco, Dave Matthews Band, Radiohead and more, Nikki’s music can be defined as alternative rock or folk rock, but leave room for fusions of bluegrass, reggae, punk and other sweet sounds that find their way to the groove.

Nikki began her first gigging band in late 1999 with violinist and co-founder Natalie Brown. Nikki served as the sole songwriter and band leader for The Trollies, who’s celtic/folk/rock roots sound blew up the local Iowa City (Iowa) club scene until they disbanded in 2002. Lunden continued to tour the Midwest through fall 2012 as a solo artist and with her bands, and record 5 albums - 3 within one year! Lunden is a true DIY artist from writing the songs, making the phone calls, developing art work, engineering and producing, generating press, you name it – of course there has always been the helping hands of friends and fans along the way!

Currently Lunden is attending Musicians Institute in Hollywood while gigging with her new band, solo, and playing jam sessions any given night of the week. Nikki is honored to have Michael Rose formerly of Elephants Memory (John Lennon’s back up band) on lead guitar and pro bassist Corey Shafarman on the low end. The band is currently auditioning drummers for their spring tour. As a solo artist, Nikki is a One Girl Band – looping guitar riffs, bass lines, percussion, effects and more! Whether solo or with her band, Nikki puts on a high-energy show full of emotion and heart, leaving you endlessly shouting “one more song!” A new EP release is expected early summer 2013 - keep your eyes peeled and ears shucked cause this girl is on fire!!

(Nikki has had the honor of opening for David Lowry and Johnny Hickman of Cracker, Devon Allman’s Honeytribe, Melissa Ferrick, Pieta Brown and Bo Ramsey, sharing festival bills with Spin Doctors, Gin Blossoms, 7 Mary Three, and has recently performed with Micki Free of Shalamar. We also want to share with you that in summer of 2011 Nikki had the great privilege to meet her idol, Sheryl Crow. It was a life fulfilling moment for Nikki and Sheryl even signed one of Nikki’s guitars that you may see her play at her shows!)
