Greg Vass-Lead Guitar,vocals
Greg Vass- Joined Mystery in Aug.2010,formerly with Chain Reaction a Journey tribute band
Greg, a 43 year old lead guitarist and backing vocalist is having fun! "How about you?", he says with a smile as we're working on these biographies. In his words, he's "The 3rd guy living, loving, and learning my songs." He's a big fan of music and the history channel. "Six fingers on one hand, really! I try to be on time at least 84% of the time. Neal is my fave." Seriously though, Greg is an incredibly talented musician with a very impressive ear for music. Never classically trained but extremely good at wood-shedding and replicating anything he hears. Mystery is fortunate to have found a guitarist with the commitment that Greg brings and we're fortunate to have his talent in our group.
Influences include:
Neal Schon, Robin Trower, Michael Schenker, Buck Owens
Gene Powers-Keyboards and backing vocals
Joined in sept 2009
formerly with the Journey tribute band"Chain Reaction" and has played shows all across the Us,he brings that additional dynamic to the already solid unit...look for lots of new stuff to come!
He started his first band in the 6th grade. His love for music persisted throughout his high school years until shortly after graduation Gene moved to LA to find his 'big break'. He stayed there for some time playing sessions and soaking up the live LA scene, later moving back to Nashville, Gene toured and recorded with various artists. Some time later he would move to Florida for 3 years serving as an Instrumental Conductor at Walt Disney World. He's currently working and playing with some, in his words, "Great Musicians", in the town he grew up in. Gene's classical knowledge, ability to read music, harmony vocal ability, and incredible ear for music are important asset to Mystery's success.
Influences include:
Pop Rhinehart, Jonathan Cain, Keith Emerson, Donald Fagen
This band has weathered changes in musicians over the years, but still maintains a good client rooster of local and regional venues thru-out the changes in line-up...what was it that Blackfoot wrote?"Another day another dollar"LOL
that rings pretty true! Also the fact that Dee Miller is a determined woman where music is concerned and is not a "cookie cutter" kind of singer, covering a large selection of male driven rock songs,it is evident she comes to capture you from the beginning til the end of the show.Combined with her talent for lyrics on the originals, you won't be disappointed
